Out of all the different things you can be doing right now, make it a priority to pursue your passions.
Yes, we each have our responsibilities, obligations, and various other commitments, but let’s not lose focus of what’s important to us. It can be so easy to get caught up in our typical day-to-day routines.
Refuse to get stuck in a rut and switch it up!
If you already know what you’re passionate about then you’ve got it easy; just go out and start living your passions.
If you’re not quite sure what you’re passionate about yet, you can still get excited about uncovering and discovering your passions.
In case you’re still trying to figure out what your passions are, here are some actionable steps you can take right now:
- Meditate. Go find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed and sit in silence for at least 20 minutes. Before you begin, ask yourself: “What am I passionate about?” You will receive some kind of answer, and it’s ok if that answer is “I don’t know.” Sometimes the answers will come to you during your meditation. Other times the meditation simply unblocks something from your mind and the idea will come to you at another time.
- What did you love doing as a child? Children express their passions with no restraints. Think back to your childhood. What did you enjoy doing and what sparked your imagination?
- Ask your friends and family what they think you’re passionate about. We often have “blind spots” that can prevent us from seeing the obvious about ourselves. Getting a different perspective from those who know us well can give us insights to characteristics we already possess, but overlook because they are so natural to us.
- Brainstorm. Simply put pen to paper and start writing down anything that comes to mind. The idea here is to pour your thoughts out onto paper and then evaluate them later.
- Do something for the first time. Trying something new and different has the potential to spark up passion, or at the very least clarify what you’re not passionate about.
Your passion is waiting to be unleashed.
