The Challenge
To read at least 30 minutes (not work related) each day for 21 consecutive days.
Have you ever finished reading a page of a book and then had to re-read it because you couldn’t recall what you just read? Or do you fall asleep reading? Maybe you look at a 500+ page book and simply don’t start because you know you won’t finish it.
Everything you need for your better future and success has already been written. And guess what? It’s all available. ~ Jim Rohn
I must admit it: I have a treasure trove full of knowledge available to me but I keep telling myself that I’m too busy to tap into its rich abundance. As a result, I’m not growing at the accelerated pace that I am capable of and I’m significantly limiting the speed at which I am able to achieve my goals.
Over the years, I have built a wonderful library full of motivational, inspirational and challenging materials. When I look at all these books, I seriously get so excited knowing that I have the ability to put my own personal touch on the information that can positively affect others.
The problem is that I am not reading enough to even put a dent into all this wonderful knowledge.
With this 21 day challenge of reading 30 minutes a day, I intend to:
- Increase reading speed while maintaining retention
- Strengthen ability to focus on a single task for an extended period of time
- Overcome the bad habit of falling asleep while reading
- Develop a natural desire to read for entertainment
- Decrease time spent watching television and aimless internet surfing
- Increase the quantity and quality of my own writing
Do you have books sitting around the house that you haven’t finished or even started? How can reading for just 30 minutes a day positively affect your life?
The Reward
When I successfully complete this 21 day challenge, I will allow myself to purchase $200 worth of materials to add to my library.
